Ultrasound #1

Saturday was the big day. I must admit I was nervous!!!
We have one lil bean (but I figured that since I only put 1 embie back) and he/she is so precious, I fell in love at first sight! :) RE says that everything looks great. I am 5 weeks along - and I go back next Saturday for a heartbeat. Beta #3 was a whopping 4,377!! Bambino is kinda hard to see but he/she is that little white spec in the black gestational sac. So Tiny!!! My EDD is January 28, 2010

That is so awesome. I'm so excited for you!!! Doesn't Jan seem so far away though? I felt that way when i got my BFP and September is so far now its only 3 1/2 months away for my due date!! Congrats!! 3rd beta numbers are awesome!!!!

IVF Timeline

April 10-24 2009
Took birth control pills.

April 29, 2009
RE visit for b/w and u/s - All Clear.
Start taking meds - 125 of Follistim and 2 Menopur

May 1, 2009
Back to the RE for b/w and u/s - 25 follies -15 on the right and 10 on the left. All less than 10mm. Changed my medication, no more Menopur and only 100 of Follistim. Back to the office tomorrow!

Back to the RE for b/w and u/s - still 25 follies - 5 -12mm and 10 less than 10 on my right and 2 -12mm with 8 less than 10 on my left. 75 follistim

Back to the RE for b/w and u/s - I blew up! In total I have about 15 follies that were around 14mm and about 16 or so that were less than 10mm. 75 follistim and 1 generalex

Back to the RE, I couldnt count how many follies I had..I think I had close to 20 follies ranging from 11-18mm. 75 follistim and 1 generalex

Back to the RE once again. Lots of big follies. Told me I was ready to go. Took 2 shots of Ovidrel at 1130pm

RE said that everything is picture perfect! Getting nervous but totally excited. No shots tonight...

Embryo Retrieval scheduled for 1130am! All went well. 19 eggs were retrieved.

Fertilization Report: Out of the 19 eggs, 13 were mature and 9 were fertilized!! WhooHooo!

IUI w/ Inj's. Cancelled Cycle..too many follicles (like 30). BFN and I didnt even O yet!! So unfair!!

March 2009
Round 3 of Clomid with the IUI's and trigger shot again. 2 follies, not going to be able to test for Progesterone since I will be away on vacation. BFN. Knew it.

Feburary 2009
Round 2 of Clomid with the IUI's and trigger shot again. 3 follies. Progesterone Lvls 19.7 BFN. BooHoo.

January 2009
HSG - all clear. Started Clomid for the first time. Double IUI's with a trigger shot of Ovidrel to make me O. 4 follies. Progesterone Lvls 31. BFN!

December 2008
Figured there was a need for some professional help. Went to see my RE for the first time. Ran bloodwork to confirm that I have PCOS and Jay did his SA. 90 million, great motility, but abnormal morphology - about 3%. BFN

January—November 2008
The beginning. No fertility treatment yet, just trying on our own. Did us no good. Got 11 BFNs

When Nature's Not Enough - Diana Olick

This is a novel that is great for anyone who is considering or going through IVF. It's about the lives of 6 different couples with infertility and their experiences with IVF. It was a very stimulating and educating book. I read it in 2 days!

So Close - Tertia Albertyn

I am in the middle of reading this book. So far, so good. It is about one couple who goes through infertility for many years and many IVF's. It is unbelieveable how much crap she had to go through! It has some good humor too! p>

Fertility Facts - Jennifer L. Howse

This is the book that my sister got for me. It's not really a 'read from cover to cover' kind of book, but definitely good to flip through for ideas and wisdoms.

The Empty Picture Frame - Jenna Currier Nadeau

I started reading this book along with the other book "so close" This book kept my interest a little bit more. Beware: It was very sad...I cried a lot. I would totally recommend this book to anyone going through infertility or knows someone going through infertility. It also has entries that her husband wrote so it may even be a good book for a man to read too.
