Ring Ring!
This morning is dragging! I am suppose to get a call between 9-11am to find out if I get my embie-baby back today (day 5) or tomorrow (day 6).
I was (still am) in a little predicament though...My work requires one designer there at all times, there are only 3 of us and one of them isn't even full time. So really either me or my boss has to be there. I went into work yesterday to find out that the part-timer is on jury duty and my boss called out sick. No Biggie. But then I thought about it. If I go into work today and I am the only one there again today, there would be no way I could just leave a 1/2 a day. I guess I could have lied and said that there was an emergency...but I am not really a good liar! Then they would be asking me all kinds of ?'s and I wouldn't have a story to tell!!!
If I knew that the transfer was definitely going to be today then I would have called out no problem. Watch, my luck they will call to tell me to come into tomorrow, then I am going to have to use 3 sick days in 2 weeks!
Fingers crossed that I go in today!!!

Hang in there! I know it is such a mess, especially when you don't/can't tell your employer what is going on. So much anxiety around it all! I was in the same boat, the people at my job had not clue and I ended up taking almost a week off due to "not feeling good"; lucky for me it was the same time as the swine flu hitting our state so they all just assumed that I had the flu. I felt horrible but legally I don't have to tell them anything!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes on the transfer! The PP is right, you don't have to give details beyond "medical issue".
ReplyDeleteEeee! I keep checking back to see if you have posted an update yet! I'm with the other girls, do what you need to do for your embies and don't worry about work.
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK!!! Work is #2 right now; they'll have to accept that. (Easy for me to say!)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for you!!! Go embie, go!!
Oh I can't wait! The anticipation is killing me!
ReplyDeleteUgh I hear you on the work frustrations!! I'd say, take the emotions out of work and just do what you have to do for your embies. Work will survivie. At the worst you might get yelled at right? A small price to pay for getting PUPA!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI meant PUPO. LOL sorry :)
ReplyDeleteGOOD LUCK!
ReplyDeleteIt's awful to have to worry about work when having something so important happening in your personal lives. Esp when you don't really want to tell anyone about it.
ReplyDeleteI remember going for my accupuncture the day after my ER and not being able to relax because I had to get my entire weekend of shifts covered.... sigh.
I hope it all works out. Don't get too stressed about work... they will survive :)
