Am I Rushing?
So I just got all the paperwork for IVF in the mail yesterday. I guess it freaked me out a bit, because now I am just worried that I am rushing into IVF.
Some things to know...
• I am 27 years old, Jay is 31
• The younger you are the better your chances
• We want a baby VERY badly
• I have PCOS and my hubs has abnormal Morphology
• I am covered 100% by insurance
• We have been TTC for over a year
• We tried 3 rounds of Clomid and IUI's with no success
• We tried a round of injectables, but RE told me I have a very high chance of multiples this cycle and for future cycles.
• RE recommended we go to IVF
• Hubs wants to go to IVF and so do I but as always - I am now second guessing myself!!
I know that you girls cant make a decision for me, but let me know your thoughts. If I didnt go through with it, I dont really know what I would do??? I am already half way through my BC pills and I am probably gonna go through with it in the end. I think I am just making myself crazy!!! I hate this, why do we have to put ourselves through this. How come I can get pregnant like a 'normal' woman. : (

I *personally* don't think that you are rushing at all. I have read about a lot of women that go to IVF after 3 failed IUIs. If I was you, one of the biggest things that would push me to do it is the ins. coverage. You are really really lucky with that! Why not do it know, espically since you don't know if your ins will change their coverage in the future? Just my opinion though..
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're rushing into it at all. I went onto IVF after only two failed IUIs. Part of it was financial, but I think if I had IVF covered, I would have skipped IUIs entirely. Injectible cycles in women with PCOS can just be so tricky. I hope you make the decicion that is right for you, and good luck if you continue on!
ReplyDeleteI dont think your rushing at all. When I did my IVF I was 24 & Jake was 26... which failed. Just because your young really doesnt mean sqwat. You ins is covering it so I would do it for sure. Your chances are higher.. what do you really have to loose???
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're rushing at all. You are extremely lucky to have full coverage for IVF and you might as well take full advantage of it while you can. You never know how long you'll have benefits like that for. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else and have to say that I do not think you are rushing. Especially with the economic situation we are all going through, you are very lucky to be covered 100% for IF. I say since you've tried IUI's with no success this is your next step.
ReplyDeleteI understand your hesitation and 2nd guessing because IVF is a big step and is difficult to even think about. I know that if my LAP doesn't work that will be our next step and it frightens the heck out of me! You are strong Ashley and I know you can do it. We are all here for you! :)
I completely agree with everyone else. And from what I've read on your blog, you've been anxious to do IVF for a couple months now. I am sure now that it comes down to it it's probably pretty scary, but you're strong and you can do it!
ReplyDeleteI am really excited for you :)
I agree with everyone else. Your not rushing a thing. You seemed to be mentioning it often in the past, plus your insurance covers it. So why not?
ReplyDeleteI felt the exact same way a couple of weeks ago. I think it is a normal feeling! Think of it this way, when June comes around are you going to be sad that you aren't preggo because you didn't do IVF. If IVF is the way, then you should. I am beginning my stims this Sat. I was totally freaking out and then I realized that I would be really bummed/devastated if I didn't go through with it!
ReplyDeleteAshley, I think you gave everything else a fair shot. Although you didn't do a complete inject/IUI cycle, you are at high risk for overstim and you don't want to end up with 6 babies! Of course it is you and your hubs decision and it might seem like a rush to others (like your sis) but all of us that know what we are talking about think it is totally appropriate. Good luck with your decision!! ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteDitto what everyone else said. You've been through so much already. Of *course* you're nervous - it's such a huge step. And, if I may venture a little further, your hopes will probably be higher during your IVF cycle than they've been in a very long time and that's, well, that's scary, too.
ReplyDelete(((Hugs))) and, p.s., how do I get insurance like yours?! LOL!!
