My mind is playing tricks on me.

I have this overwhelming feeling like I miscarried. I know it could be all in my head so I am hoping that you girls can talk some sense into me. I am about 9 and a half weeks. The last time I saw bambino and heard the heartbeat was at 8 weeks. Being that I got to see the baby once a week it was a definite guarantee that he/she was still alive and growing.

I not going to the OB until another 3 weeks! And I am wondering if this is the reason for my concern. I know that this is common, especially in the early stages, but I just cant seem to shake the feeling. There are two reasons why I feel this way...one is that my boobs no longer hurt as much as they did and two (which may sound silly) but I broke 2 nails. I read somewhere that it would raise suspicion of a miscarriage if your nails suddenly start to break. They have been long, lustrous and beautiful for the past 8 weeks and now just this week they started to break. WTH!!

I read about a missed miscarriage and one way to notice that you had one is for your preggo symptoms to disappear. Figures that other than my boobs - I didn't really have any other symptoms to go by. I was gagging at one point but I realized that it was my prenatal vitamins and once I switched brands the gagging stopped.

The only thing I still hold onto is the fact that I am still getting a very, very mild cramping everyday. I have had it since I first found out and still to this day. It is the only thing that keeps me going that there is still something going on in there.

This is so nerve wracking!!! This constant worry just stinks!!

  1. (((((Hugs)))))) Sending many prayers that you are so very wrong, missy!

Perhaps the new prenatal doesn't have as much of whatever it is that make your nails so strong, and it's just now catching up to your nails. That sounds like a reasonable explanation to me - they must be different somehow since they're not making you sick any more, so maybe that difference affects your nails, too.

Hang in there - and call your OB and demand an u/s if you need to. He works for you! :)

  2. Don't take this the wrong way, but STOP READING THINGS. They'll only make you worry and think too much about every symptom or lack thereof.

I really hope it's not a missed miscarriage, but if it is, there's nothing you can do to prevent it. If you keep reading, and worrying, and stressing, remember that the baby feels what you feel! Don't worry.

And three weeks sounds like a long time for your next appointment, but in comparison to like two months, three weeks is short! I know, it sucks to wait.

  3. I'm sure everything is ok, hun. I agree with pp, reading those things can make you worry. Its just like when you were wanting to get pregnant, you could almost fool yourself into being pregnant by reading about the symptoms. Try to stop worrying & enjoy being pregnant ~HUGS~

  4. It is normal to worry. Can you call your OB and voice your opinions and maybe see if they can detect a heart beat just to calm your fears?

The first three months are the hardest.

  5. ((((((Hugs)))))) I'll keep you in my prayers lady :)

BUT I do agree with PP's - quit reading stuff for a while! It will only make you worry more. And call your doctor for some reassurance.

  7. My boobs stopped hurting almost immediatly when I stoped the PIO shots! You are fine, once a HB is detected the chance of Miscarriage is very minimal. I think it is very normal to worry...and thus begins the worrying for the rest of the child's life.
I think it is very hard for us, to go from going to the Re all the time and getting updates to then being a Normal Pregnant person and only going to the doctor every few weeks...it is hard. But just know that the baby is probably fine...the thing that has helped me the most is to STOP GOOGLING everything. Limit what you allow youself to read...because everything I mean everything could cause a miscarriage, according to the Google Machine.
    Good Luck!

  8. you definately need to take a break from the books and internet articles! i had similar symptoms, but everything turned out to be fine. i even went to the er once, just to make sure and demanded an ultrasound (i was throwing up blood and had severe cramps). do what you feel is best for you and the baby. if you still are nervous about it, go to the doctor. :) you know your body better than anyone else, so if you think something is wrong, just go. i think it is a natural part of pregnancy to worry about miscarriage, especially in the beginning and especially when you want something so much and are afraid to lose it when you finally get it.

keep us posted! you are in my thoughts and prayers and i'm sending hugs your way!

  9. Hey Ashley,

I'm feeling the same way. My symptoms have gone away quite a bit but I still have that cramping. I'm praying that all is ok, but if I were so worried (and didn't havean appt tomorrow) I'd def call and ask for an u/s. Even call your RE maybe. Just my 2 cents. Hope you feel better soon!
