The Kohl's Doorman

I don't know if all of you ladies have a Kohl's by you but I do and the one by me has a doorman. He just hangs out between the double doors and makes sure that the doors are open for the customers as they walk in and out of the store.

Well I went to Kohl's on lunch today to return something and as I was leaving the guy was holding the door open for me. I said to him.."I'm coming" waddling towards the door "I'm carrying a little big of extra weight these days" Well that must have struck a cord with him because he was overly happy that I was pregnant. He was asking me all kinds of questions...he then went on to say that when he and his wife finally got pregnant after 17 years of trying....I smiled and told him that we had some difficulty too. Not nearly as long as him, but we had some trouble. He was such a breath of fresh air. He kept telling me to enjoy my pregnancy and my child because they grow up so quick. He gave me a few tips and tricks for the future too...

After about a 15 minute conversation with the Kohl's doorman I walked away with a big smile on my face. It was nice to have a conversation with a man who was so happy about life. Knowing that he went through 17 years of infertility to finally get his child also leaves hope for the many others out there still ttc. He definitely made my day! :)

  1. Aww that was sweet of him. And 17 years is quite a long time! I surely hope I'm not at it in 17 years...

  5. That is sweet. I'm glad that him and his wife didn't give up but I just can't imagine what 17 years of waiting is like.
